When we started fabricating tents out of a home garage in 2011, we did it because the big manufacturers were selling from a catalogue and nobody was listening to what a specific event actually needed. Fifteen years later, that is still the difference between us and everyone else. We are a family-owned business, today run by Seelan and Elvena and a growing team across our Pinetown head office and branches in Durban, Pretoria, Polokwane and Richards Bay, and we have put more than ten thousand tents into the field for weddings, government departments, the military and emergency relief operations across Southern Africa.

For a wedding, that track record matters more than it sounds. We manufacture and supply the full range a couple could need. Pagoda Tents bring a distinctive high-peak roofline and can seat forty guests intimately in the 5m x 5m size, or be joined together to comfortably seat eighty to a hundred for a bigger reception. Cabana Tents are built specifically for garden ceremonies and poolside cocktail hours, with curtains and side panels available to dress them up. Stretch Tents are fluid, freeform structures that can be rigged over a lawn, a pool deck or a rooftop and shaped around whatever your venue gives you, from an intimate 4.5m x 6m canopy up to a 30m x 20m span. And when the guest list runs into the hundreds, our Frame and Peg and Pole marquees scale from 5m x 5m right up to structures that seat thousands, all engineered from steel or aluminium and wind-rated to 100 km/h, so a gusty Highveld afternoon or a coastal squall does not become your problem on the day.

The line couples usually remember us for is the one on our own website: "we don't make that size" is what another supplier tells you right before they call us. If your venue is an awkward L-shape, if you need a marquee that matches your wedding colours down to the panel, or if your numbers have grown past what a standard tent can hold, custom sizing and full branding are built into how we work, not an afterthought. We extend tents in three and five metre bays, join Pagodas end to end, and print roof panels and side walls to order. It genuinely is no trouble to ask us for something a catalogue supplier would turn down.

We know a wedding is usually a once-off event, and we are upfront about that in our own product FAQs. If hiring makes more financial sense for your day than buying, we will tell you honestly rather than push a sale you do not need. Either way, every tent leaves us complete with its frame, walls, poles, guy ropes and a proper carry bag, with options like wooden flooring, glass doors, rain gutters, lighting fittings and clear or solid sidewalls available to finish the look exactly the way you picture it. Because we manufacture everything ourselves rather than sourcing from a middleman, we can usually get a standard size to you within days and have a custom or branded structure ready in ten to twenty working days, with a quote back to you within 24 hours of asking.

We deliver out of our branches across Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town, and further afield across the African continent when a job calls for it. Every tent we build carries a ten-year workmanship warranty, and if a pole bends or a panel tears years down the line, we still stock the replacement parts to fix it, which is more than most tent hire companies can promise once your wedding day is long behind you. We started this business by solving one impossible-sounding request for one customer in a home garage, and that is still what gets us out of bed in the morning: someone tells us what they actually need for their day, and we build it.
