About
Poplap Photography & Design is the work of Evelene Bester, a Cape Winelands photographer who has been behind the camera since 2014 and photographing weddings since 2017. What started as a love for photography grew into a passion for capturing people, their personalities and the genuine moments that make each wedding unique.
My approach to wedding photography is natural, relaxed and fun. I don't want couples to spend their wedding day constantly worrying about posing for the camera. I give gentle direction when needed while leaving plenty of room for the real moments, emotions, laughter and little in-between memories to happen naturally. I even have a few tricks to help camera-shy couples relax and forget they're being photographed.
I offer wedding photography coverage from shorter celebrations through to full-day weddings, with professionally edited high-resolution images delivered digitally through an online gallery. Engagement sessions are also available, and second photographers can be added to selected wedding packages. I don't provide videography or unedited RAW files.
Based in the Cape Winelands and regularly photographing weddings in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Wellington, Worcester, Robertson, Ashton, Tulbagh and throughout the Western Cape, I love photographing everything from vineyard and farm weddings to garden, beach, modern and classic celebrations.
My goal is simple: to give you beautiful photographs that bring you straight back to how your wedding day actually felt.

Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. I’m based in the Cape Winelands and photograph weddings across Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Wellington, Worcester, Robertson, Ashton, Tulbagh and throughout the Western Cape. Travel is calculated separately where applicable.
How many hours of wedding photography do you offer?
My wedding packages range from 6 to 12 hours of photography, depending on how much of your wedding day you would like covered.
Do you take natural and candid wedding photographs?
Yes. My style combines natural-light photography, genuine candid moments and gentle direction. I want your photographs to feel like you rather than a collection of heavily posed images.
What if we are camera shy?
Don't worry! Many couples aren't comfortable in front of a camera. I keep things relaxed, give you simple direction when needed and use a few fun tricks to help you forget about the camera.
When will we receive our wedding photographs?
Wedding galleries are normally delivered within 6–12 weeks after your wedding. During the busy wedding season, delivery may take a little longer as I may be editing several weddings at once. I always take the time needed to carefully edit your photographs before delivering your final high-resolution gallery.
