Tradition dictates that the Royal Wedding Ceremony should take place at the Royal Church, Westminster Abbey, London. The Abbey is over 1000 years old and is described as ‘the home of British pageantry.’ The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, HRH Prince William and Catherine, heralded tradition, choosing the majestic Gothic cathedral for their wedding venue, tying the knot in a traditional Anglican wedding ceremony on Friday, 29 April 2011.

As befitting their status, the Bride and Groom had VIP marriage officials to officiate their nuptials. The wedding service was conducted by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, and the marriage was solemnised by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend and Right Honourable Dr Rowan Williams. The Address was given by the Bishop of London, the Right Reverend and Right Honourable Dr Richard Chartres.
