As a shoe girl, I imagine my favourite recurring dream to be ‘My Wedding’... having the opportunity to choose a different pair of wedding shoes every night. What a pleasure! It’s the one place that I can totally lose myself: A shoe shop. I usually find myself in a non compos mentis state where rules disintegrate, resistance crumbles and anything goes.

A couple of years ago a bride had the ‘freedom’ to choose between a conservative satin heel and a traditional white sandal. As long as it was white. Because that was what good girls wore. How liberated we are today! A pair of wedding shoes can be anything from a pair of wellies or sneakers to a traditional satin shoe (not necessarily white) or any bold, colourful sandal.
