Usambara is a large, long-established wedding venue on the N14 outside Krugersdorp, about 30 minutes from both Johannesburg and Pretoria. With three separate chapels on the property, Amani, a Formal chapel, and an outdoor Forest chapel, plus two thatch-roofed reception venues, Magali and Mponde, the venue is built to handle everything from an intimate ceremony to a wedding of 500 or more guests.
Both reception venues lean into a warm, industrial-loft look: exposed bulbs, cladded walls, and thatch overhead, with buffet service areas built into each space. The Mponde venue alone can seat between 150 and 400 guests with a dance floor, or up to 500 without one. Usambara Lodge on site offers 20 luxury double rooms, so out-of-town guests and the wedding party can stay over rather than travel back the same night.
The venue also offers dedicated facilities for Muslim and Hindu ceremonies, and an in-house team for floral and decor design alongside the venue hire itself.
